Well, that was a fun few months of class assignments, side jobs, waking up early to administer IV drips to a sick kitty while moving to a new apartment during finals week while screaming WHAT IS HAPPENING. But now I am finally pretty much settled down in beautiful Berkeley California where the streets are paved with artisan vegan donuts and pot leaves, and I may have actually seen a homeless man die in front of my very eyes last night.
Fortunately, my cat is okay now, if not irritable, the art supplies are almost unpacked, and the days are less about constant art-making, and more about a series of phone calls to fix all the problems that keep happening all around me, while the phone keeps dropping calls, because that is one of the problems.
And so it is now time to get this blog out of its coffin and back onto life support, and fortunately I have about a billion recent assignments to choose from. So today’s dump is going to be all the random illustration exercises that challenged me to do things with paint I would normally avoid doing, such as “paint with watercolors” or “use mixed media.” But in all these cases, there was no specific subject matter, and for that reason these were the most fun assignments I received!
SCORE: Three marbles, a salt shaker, and a waffle iron
